Education in Germany

Education in Germany  free as a state policy like other Scandinavian countries like Sweden, Denmark.  While Language of Instruction predominantly German, quite few universities started International programs in English to attract the International Talent.

Education in Germany at University Level is taught in 2 types of Institutes.  The  Research Oriented Universities (Universities of Technology)    and Job Oriented Universities of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschulen) . The following illustration would give a brief overview of the difference between the two types of institutions.

Universities can award doctoral degrees and are more research oriented while Universities of Applied Sciences are Industry oriented where practicals are an integrated part of the course work.  Generally the courses offered in University of Applied Sciences are limited to Engineering, Business Administration, Social Sciences and Design.  The general orientation of an FH is to prepare for a prospective job in the  field of interest.

While one  may not be able to continue higher education in an FH after receiving a Masters degree, but  could always transfer from an FH to a University as a master’s degree holder to pursue a doctoral degree.

Facts and Features of Education in Germany

  • There are more than 300 Universities in Germany for higher education in Germany.
  • Tuition fee Education in Germany is very nominal as a Government Policy. Wherever the tuition is charges it very minimal up to 500 Euros.
  • Germany degrees are globally recognized and under ECTS ( European Credit Transfer System ), the courses are recognized across  European Union for Transferring to any Other University in Europe.
  • The main intake is September (Winter) while few programs are offered in March intake ( Summer).
  • We process applications where the students has 4 years degree with academics of more than  65% for Free Education in Germany.  If the student has good experience we can process applications with less academics also.
  • We apply are Programs where the language of instruction is English.
  • The minimum IELTS required is 6.5  or 79  in TOEFL as the Programs are taught in English.
  • We strongly advise to learn German Language and clear at least A1 level though not Mandatory. This is essential for day to day survival,  part time jobs and some Programs need A1 Level for Admission
